HAMMERJAW
The strong silent type, Hammerjaw is perhaps the least vocal of the Dinobots, rarely ever speaking except when he needs to, he prefers to listen to what is going on around him and much prefers peace and quiet. But when the bullets start flying and a fight is not far off, then he likes to join in for a bit of blood-sport; with his long powerful jaws capable of exerting over fifteen tons of pressure, he can snap the spinal unit of any con like a twig, even triple-changers and combiner’s are no problem! His huge dorsal sail acts as both a solar energy collector, and a giant deflector shield generator, capable of creating a huge protective force-field walls that can withstand powerful plasma cannon-fire and bombs, and can shrug off the most brutal close-quarter assaults. Hammerjaw’s also a very good swimmer, his powerful tail can propel him through the water at a sufficient speed, and his broad flat head with his optics, vents and audios on top enable him to stalk his prey like a crocodile.
Hammerjaw’s altmode is based on the Spineosaurus, one of the biggest theropods of the early Cretaceous period (possibly the largest land-based carnivore to have ever lived!), the Spineosaurus was a serious predator to contend with, at 50-60ft long and weighting over 9 tons with a sail reaching up to 6ft high, there were very few if any that could challenge it. In altmode Hammerjaw is over 70ft long, and 15 tons with his dorsal sail reaching up to 8ft tall; the armour plating that makes up his jaws is specially reinforced to provide additional protection for his powerful mandible ligament-cables; but like the crocodile, while the ligament-cables responsible for closing the jaws are immensely strong, the ones used for opening the lower jaw are very weak, all one has to do is hold onto Hammerjaw’s closed jaws and he’s as good as defeated, even something as small as parcel-string can easily keep them closed!
