CYANDUS

Despite being the second eldest son, Cyandus is actually the second largest of his siblings. Essentially the runt of the brood, Cyandus was tiny and frail when he first hatched; all predacon hatchlings can fly within minutes of birth, but it was days before his wings were strong enough to carry him, and even then, he had to draft off his mother, as he didn’t have the strength to sustain himself in the air with wing beats alone. By the time they reach the age of five years old, many predacon hatchlings can shoot flames at over 1000 feet, and sustain a temperature of well over 300 K: Cyandus, could only manage about half that length and temperature: and as if to rub rust into the wounds, his armor was half the strength it should be for his age; while most predacon hatchlings can take a serious pounding and not incur any serious injuries, Cyandus’s armor couldn’t shrug off direct blows or fire-blasts, and as such, he used to get injured frequently.

Unable to fly strongly, unable to shot fire properly, unable to fight without getting hurt, and unable to grow any bigger: Cyandus was a disappointment to his father, who made no secret of his failure to live up to his expectations. His mother however, would have none of it, and continued to raise him as she did the rest of their brood. This annoyed Predaking to no end, who perceived Cyandus to be a liability to the well-being of the pack; weak links cannot be tolerated as far as he was concerned, and so one day, when Predaqueen left the nest to go hunting, Predaking removed Cyandus and proceeded to dispose of him, breaking his wing whilst doing so.

Fortunately, Predaqueen heard her son’s cry for help, and raced back in time to catch Predaking in the act of feeding the helpless hatchling to his fellow predacons. Her rage was deep and terrible, as she punished her mate for this unspeakable act: Predaking walked away with both his wing membranes shredded, and minus one optic: he never attempted to cast Cyandus out again, and to this day, will not push his luck with his mate: knowing full well that she can kill him at any time.

But despite such a precarious (and sometimes brutal) upbringing: Cyandus is a predacon of many surprises. What he lacks in brawn and brute strength, he makes up for with his amazing CPU; with his IQ estimated to be over 260, he’s by far one of, if not the most intelligent cybertronian in existence. He can perform calculus, algebra and quantum physics simultaneously: he has mastered the art of advanced cybertronian science, medicine, engineering, nanite-tech and bio-organic theory.

From a very early age he had learnt to read and write, and over time, could translate and comprehend other alien languages. And as soon as he could run and fly, he’d take whatever opportunity he could sneak out, and creep into Shockwave’s facility to steal whatever data or technology he could drag back to the nest, often accompanied by his younger siblings. While his budding intelligence was noted by his mother: his father however, continued to belittle and put him down at every turn; his older brother Volcanus was no different, as he liked to use his smaller sibling as the object of his bullying, often allowing the other predacon younglings of the pack to pick on him too.

But remarkably, Cyandus was never put off or discouraged, and from a young age was able to formulate a number of techniques and plans to avoid his brother and his brainless friends: using other means of avoiding them, or using their own strength against them in a one on one fight. Being smaller and lighter meant that Cyandus could move and fly much faster than the average predacon: and he certainly used this advantage to the hilt to out-fly or out-run a possible assault, or even to avoid his father and the other predacons.

But Cyandus is not the warrior type: rather than hunt and fight with the rest of the pack, he’d much rather spend his days tinkering about on an engine part of some kind, or trying to formulate a new energy source. Over the years he spent stealing from Shockwave’s lab, his collection began to spill out of the cave; and so to accommodate the collection, as well as his own inventions; he created the Sub-Space Dimensional Stronghold (or the D-Cube for short). A device that created an infinite sub-space dimension, a sort of ‘pocket universe’, where he created his own laboratory, housing facility, computer network, and universal library all in one. Contained within a quantum-mechanized cube (which ironically bears a resemblance to a Rubik’s cube) that acted as both his personal laptop and portal to the sub-space, Cyandus could come and go as he pleased, without having to worry about his father or brother’s discovering it.

Overtime, as he continued to add more and more features to the D-cube, the sub-space dimension became a sanctuary for both Cyandus and his other siblings, here they could relax and not have to worry about their father, Volcanus, or the rest of the pack. Being more curious than ferocious, whenever something comes up, Cyandus always makes the effort to try and understand what it is; completely the opposite from his older brother Volcanus, who simply charges and attacks without question.

Cyandus sees the world around him as an infinite tangle of equations and patterns: it is merely a case of trying to figure them out, and how they fit into the greater design of the universe. Cyandus is a predacon whose path lies elsewhere in life: different from his kind in many ways, he cannot relate to his father’s instinctive nature, it’s simply too illogical; considering that Predacons died out many millions of years ago, in an age when Cybertron was far more primitive than it is now. Cyandus recognizes that brute strength and ferocious endurance is not enough to survive this modern age: evolution is the only way to move forward, to adapt and learn, is the key to his kin’s survival. But whether anyone will listen to him is another matter: and since his father, and many in the pack have branded Cyandus and his younger siblings as weaklings, it may be, that Cyandus’s attempts to try and help his kind, may fall on deaf audios.

Cyandus is half the size of his older brother Volcanus, with half the wingspan too. Most teenage predacons can shoot fire over 5000 feet, while Cyandus can only manage about 3.500 feet. Also, the average teenage predacons flames can reach over 600 K, while Cyandus’s can only get to about 400 K, but this is not a problem, as he has learnt to narrow his fire-blast down to a tiny white-hot beam, allowing him to perform pin-point welding with amazing accuracy.

When he was younger, and Cyandus had his wing broken by his father, the wing didn’t heal as well as it should: despite his mother’s best attempts to nurse him back to health, he couldn’t fly straight. But this handicap didn’t deter him, within weeks, Cyandus had created a special brace for his wing, to support the joint that had been damaged; and after a few trial flights, was able to fly again: and to this day, he still uses that same brace, enlarging it every year he grows.

He views the glass half full, and it shows in his polite, humble (if not a little meek), and generous attitude. Unlike most predacons that might try to catch and eat you (or if you’re an organic, use you as a chew-toy), Cyandus is more likely to offer you a seat to sit down, offer you something to eat or drink, and then send you on your merry way. He’s as un-predacon as a predacon can get, in every way but his fearlessness. No matter what is thrown at him, Cyandus is not a quitter: no matter the odds, he doesn’t let his father, his brother, or the rest of the pack, or anything else, hold him back. That determination and gutsiness is at the heart of all predacons, and in many ways, he embraces the best of what his kin could be.

PLEASE NOTE: Although I've done these new predacons OCs in the style of TP, their actually part of My-verse (the 2007 TF movie with a little bit of everything else thrown in): for full details, check out my Fanfic page > www.fanfiction.net/u/2240574/S… I just prefer the TP style, as it's so smooth and easy to draw; it's simply a preference okay?

Disclaimer: Cyandus belongs to me, please ask before borrowing.
